Dean Owrey to bring 30+ years of experience in financial leadership
Pittsburgh, PA – Vincentian announced today the appointment of Dean Owrey as the organization’s Chief Financial Officer. Owrey is a highly accomplished executive with more than 30 years of experience in financial leadership in Western Pennsylvania.
“Dean’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for our organization as we usher in a new era of progress and innovation at Vincentian,” President & CEO Nick Vizzoca said. “Dean will help us leverage opportunities that will further advance our impact in the community while supporting and enhancing our mission of compassionate care.”
Vincentian is a not-for-profit health care and human services organization that offers a continuum of care for more than 2,000 seniors and children per year at seven sites across Allegheny County.
Owrey has worked for many years in the healthcare industry and with organizations of all sizes. He most recently served as the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for UPMC Enterprises and UPMC Corporate Services. At UPMC, Owrey led the adoption of award-winning technology business management principles and oversaw a $700 million budget.

Prior to joining UPMC, Owrey worked for many years at Ernst & Young, one of the most highly respected professional services firms in the world, where he led diverse teams across a portfolio of healthcare, insurance and other clients in Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio.
Owrey has served as a board member for several non-profit organizations, including as Treasurer for the American Red Cross – Southwestern PA Chapter. He is the current head coach for the Quaker Valley boys varsity baseball team. He begins his new role at Vincentian on February 3.
Vincentian employs 800 people and has an annual budget of approximately $65 million. It was founded in 1924 in the Catholic tradition and is sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth.
